About Hanité Inc.
Hanité Inc. is a federally incorporated socioeconomic consulting firm based in Calgary, Alberta. At Hanité, we believe immigration itself is not a problem to be managed, but a catalyst for innovation, cultural growth and shared prosperity that needs to be orchestrated meticulously.
Policy and services are often segmented - one for immigrants, another for Indigenous peoples, another for citizens. This separation fosters barriers leading to misunderstanding, pointless competition and inefficiency. Instead of leading a holistic advancement of our society by leveraging immigrant talents for the good of all, growing rift among the communities slow down developments.
Hanité strives to be an exemplary solution for the future. Our name combines Hana (하나, “one” in Korean) and Unité (unity in French), reflecting our mission: oneness in unity. We create platforms where immigrants, Indigenous peoples and Canadians born in Canada come together to meet in real life, exchange ideas and thus, influence policy to move beyond diversity toward genuine socioeconomic integration.
Mission
Structure Canadian societies beyond diversity rhetoric by designing systems, programs and behaviors that achieve a genuine three-way integration of immigrants, Indigenous peoples and Canadians, creating a model for the rest of the world.
“Beyond Diversity, Genuine Integration.”
Founder & CEO
Ui Heang was born in Seoul, South Korea.
As a teenager, he grew up in Hanoi, Vietnam, being educated in an international IB World School. His independent immigration journey began by completing his undergraduate studies in Upstate New York, USA and arriving in Montreal, Canada in 2015 for his graduate studies in Political Science at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM).
He went through 8 years of Canadian immigration process to obtain his Canadian citizenship on his own with the support of dear friends he made in Montreal, Gatineau/Ottawa and Vancouver.
허의행, or Ui Heang (first name, 의행) Hur (last name, 허), a South Korean-born Canadian immigrant citizen aspires for a country where multiple nations can co-exist, leading the advancement of the hosting country in our increasingly interconnected world.
Ui Heang has been active in the field of immigration since 2018, when he began supporting South Korean temporary resident families in Montreal (youth and mothers) by teaching Canada’s official languages in a bilingual context. Recognizing the need for structured support, he co‑founded a language school dedicated to language acquisition, cultural understanding, and integration guidance, helping dozens of families take their first steps toward meaningful participation in Montreal society. His strong ties are maintained until today.
In 2021, he relocated to Gatineau to explore opportunities in the National Capital Region. He was fortunate to join the Centre for Canadian Language Benchmarks (CCLB) in Ottawa as a bilingual project officer, contributing to IRCC/ESDC-funded national language projects with a Francophone focus. This experience gave him firsthand insight into the dynamics of Francophone minority communities outside Quebec, and the distinct identities they develop compared to those within his home, Francophone province.
In 2023, Ui Heang moved to Metro Vancouver where he practised high-touch expertise as Employer Support and Relations Specialist in the IRCC-funded Economic Immigration Program with the Société de développement économique de la Colombie‑Britannique (SDECB). Over an 18‑month mandate, he built partnerships with employers, provincial ministries, community organizations, and professional associations to improve Francophone employability in BC and advance Canada’s Francophone immigration initiatives.
In May 2025, Ui Heang settled in Calgary where he founded Hanité Inc. as a platform to bring together locals, immigrants, and Indigenous peoples, creating space for dialogue, collaboration, and solutions that move beyond diversity toward genuine integration.
Ui Heang holds a Master of Arts degree in Science politique (Political Science), concentration en politique internationale/droit international (concentration in international politics and international law) from Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and a BA in International Relations, double major in French, from State University of New York at Geneseo (SUNY Geneseo).
Founder-led practice with executive rigor and human warmth.

FAQ
For language: If you are a permanent resident in Canada, outside of Québec, you can search for LINC/CLIC programs - the IRCC-funded language trainings for newcomer adults across Canada, outside of Québec. Centre for Canadian Language Benchmarks (CCLB) is the standard setting body for LINC/CLIC. They can help you navigate resources. If you reside in Québec, be sure to find information on the government of Québec's website as they offer their own French programs for newcomers. If you speak French and need services outside of QC in Canada, many non-profit service providers are funded by IRCC to provide language services as well.
For employment support services: If you are a permanent resident, look up IRCC-funded non-profit organizations in your area for help as employability is a commonly available service across the country. If you are a citizen, there are charities and nonprofits that are either funded by the municipal, provincial or federal government. If you are a French-speaker, check out RDEE Canada's website for further information.
